Ladies and gentlemen, Ms Scarlet Dawn has did it again!I have so many thoughts racing when it comes to this book so bare with me if this review is all of the place.
Authors have pattern they all do. Ms Dawn has a tendency to drop a whole lot of questions and unexplainable things in the beginning of series and explain things as the series gets further in. But that's they only pattern she has. Most authors after a few series their writing style becomes predictable. Usually when I read, I'm good at guessing at things and predicting this and that to happen (with most authors and movies I have a pretty good record.). Boy was I completely wrong! Ms Dawn is an author that if the crowd is going right she's screaming "Why the hell would I ever go right then!" and storms off to the left with attitude. Everything you would predict happens never happens but stuff out of this world happens.
A lot of events happened in book 2 which I appreciated. I don't like stories to drag out and filler books where nothing really happens. The intricacy of this story was so beautifully done. So many characters interwoven with each other. So many lives that touch each other. I would love to see her story map. How does she keep it all together when she writes?!
I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone!!! The book was humorous, adventurous, and mind blowing! You definitely need to read Chosen Theif before you start this book. Caro learns to accept her new position and what she can provide to the elemental community. She becomes a little stronger as a person as a soon to be ruler in this book. You will scream, maybe cry, and definitely laugh in book 2. It does have a cliffhanger cause it's in a series but it's an unexpected cliffhanger. Not a cliffhanger than leave crying and screaming why did she end it there (well maybe).

Ok, seriously Scarlett Dawn?! How is it that I can laugh, literally tear up and then be shocked (like mouth gaping with possibly a little drool) all within the pages of one book?? Well, it happened and I loved the book. The characters definitely are more complex, including Caro, who, lets just be honest, could have used some complexity in the first book. She's grown up, matured in all the right places, and doesn't make me want to pull my hair out. I'm still completely baffled with some of the relationships and I cannot wait to see what the next book has in store for us, because the ending - whaaaaaaaat????!!!
All in all, I have literally read this book probably 5 times since I received the ARC and it's because I loved it that much. If you haven't ready the first 4 books...well I'm not sure what you're waiting for - go do it! You won't be disappointed.
THIS is what I was waiting for! Chosen Thief (the previous book) got a lot more complex with what Chosen Fool added to the story, and I actually enjoyed Caro's first book a lot more the second time around (I'd gotten over my hang-ups with the love interests, which was my only real complaint with the last book). Chosen Fool brought the story back up to the exceptional level I'd come to expect from Scarlett Dawn's writing, and even though I knew first hand that Scarlett is an expert of cliffhanger endings that leave you salivating for more, it in no way prepared me for the insanity of how much I AM ABSOLUTELY DYING FOR THE NEXT BOOK! Who can I bribe to get Chosen One in my hands ASAP? Like, GIVE ME ANSWERS ALREADY! This one was chock-full of twists and turns (I particularly loved seeing characters from previously undiscovered sides), and one of my favorite things is that it added so many more layers to Chosen Thief - I LOVE it when authors do this! Not only did it add to the previous book, but by the end it had also enriched the scenes from this book so much that I had no choice but going back and read it all again with new eyes.
Now, in all seriousness. Who do I have to contact, and how much do they want for handing over Chosen One early...? ;)
This series is a needle in a haystack of epic fantasy novels with an awesome heroine who is actually a heroine in all sense of the world. So many fantasy novels advertise as being fantasy novels but fall so short you actually start to lose hope you'll get to read a good book anytime soon. So many books advertise heroines but make the female leads stupid and reckless and call it bravery. So many books advertise being epic but the entire plot rest on the stupidity of the "heroine" instead of taking the time to actually writing a good book. Hence my needle in a haystack comparison. This series renews your faith in the genre.
Chosen Fool is the fifth installment in Scarlett Dawn's new-adult fantasy series titled Forever Evermore. I've been a Scarlett Dawn fan since I read her debut novel in 2013. I've been an even bigger fan of this series and have loyally followed it, spent my hard-earned money on every new release, and recommended it to many, many readers. I don't regret any of it. However, this installment has me concerned. Events and revelations in this book make the installment before this one (Chosen Thief) as well as the first 40% of this one utterly pointless in my opinion, there is no plot direction - things seem to happen just for the jaw-drop effect, and again...who the hell is the romantic interest?????
Even though I personally had notable problems with Chosen Fool, I can say that Ms. Dawn has again managed to keep me thoroughly engaged and invested in a series I am more than happy to continue. Who knows, maybe by the time this particular saga ends, the summed up events will demand a re-read and everything will make sense. If it does, I will be sure to reflect it in a second review/rating. Fingers crossed )
