Book review: Whitney G.I love to hear a person’s story. We all have such different experiences and obstacles we deal with and most of the time you never know just how much a person has actually go through to bring them to where they are in the present moment.
This book told Marilyn’s story—the good, the bad and the ugly. I learned a lot about her in her very candid and open truths. As a Christian, I feel like we often have to suffer in silence. We are not always given the privilege of being healed by sharing our past and our struggles for fear of being judged, but Marilyn has inspired me to not be ashamed of the things I’ve been through because it all has lead me to the peace I have in Christ. People have thrown in the towel and turned their back on God for much less than what Marilyn endured, but the fact that she survived by its self is a testimony. And not only has she survived, she has clung to God and He has elevated her to great success, love, peace and put her in a position where she comfortably can share her challenges to encourage others.
Sometimes, it’s just makes things easier knowing someone else has go through what you have or something similar. Though our situations have been different, this book really ministered to me. Her book may speak of her story, but Marilyn is really focused on what the reader can benefit from her story. The book is meant to uplift and help deliver the readers who have faced great problems that maybe they don’t know how to handle, or are embarrassed of what they have done. But when you repent, God throws those sins into the sea of forgetfulness, and Marilyn is a living example of that.
It was painful to read the abusive situations that Marilyn had endured knowing how kind, loving, selfless and amazing she is, but it let me know that sometimes we suffer from experiences we are undeserving of, but it’s not an excuse to give up. This book tells me to not give up on myself, and definitely not give up on God. I’m sad that her journey had large bumps in the road, but God has taken her tragedy and turned it into a testimony to encourage myself and all the other readers!

I really enjoyed this book! I loved the fact that God was able to give Marilyn the strength and the courage to tell her story. I pray that her testimony will bless others.
OMG! If you have ever had bad things happen to you in the past, then you will want to pick up a copy of Marilyn's book, "Be Still." She is an inspiration to everyone she meets. To go through what she went through and come out strong, bold, and fearless is totally amazing! She had the courage to do what most people will not do and that is to expose the things of her past. So, let her take you on a journey that will inspire you, encourage you, and hopefully help you learn how to BE STILL.

Reading this book from a dear friend/little sister gave me true and real understanding of the woman she is today. I was very excited to received this book. I read Marilyn's book in two days. She is a wonderful writer. She kept my interest with every turning page. I'm hoping the next chapter of her life is on its way in writing. I've known her most of her life. She has always been very ambitious. Be Still is a great read. Marilyn keep up the great work. Everyone should read this book. It speaks to you in ways no one can. The actions in the book are real in the world. May God continue to bless Marilyn and her family.
